A world that keeps going

Everything you'd expect from a classic top-down online RPG, rebuilt on a modern engine.

Seamless worlds

Big maps stitched from many levels. Walk from town to forest to dungeon without a loading screen.

Many servers

Pick from the live server list. Each server is its own world, with its own rules, quests and community.

Friends & messages

Add friends, see which server they're on, and send private messages wherever you both are.

Items & shops

Collect weapons and gear, manage your inventory, and buy and sell at shops.

Light & atmosphere

Torches in the dark, day and night, particles and effects that make each place feel alive.

Make it yours

Pick your look and your nickname. Your account works on every server.

For creators

Build your own world

GRC is the toolkit for running and building a server. Write scripts, paint levels and manage players, all from one app, while people are playing.

  • TypeScript scripting: weapons, NPCs, GUIs and server logic, with full autocomplete.
  • Live reload: save a script and it's running on the server a moment later.
  • Level editor: tiles, collision, NPCs and links, with maps you can walk straight into.
  • Data built in: SQLite databases, replicated collections and an SQL explorer.
  • Staff tools: file browser, player manager, staff chat and rights.
// weapons/hello.client.ts
export function onPlayerChats(
  who: ChatPlayer, chat: string) {
  if (who.id !== player.id) return
  if (chat !== '/hello') return
  triggerServer('weapon', this.name, 'hello')
}

export function onActionClientSide(
  action: string, count: number) {
  if (action === 'greeted')
    player.chat = `Greeted ${count} player(s)!`
}

The apps aren't code-signed yet, so your OS asks before opening them the first time.

  • macOS: unzip the game client (or open the GRC .dmg and drag it to Applications), then right-click the app and choose Open. If that's not offered, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
  • Windows: unzip the game client and run GClient.exe, or run the GRC installer. If SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway.
  • Linux: unzip the game client and run GClient/GClient. For GRC, make the .AppImage executable (chmod +x GRC-*.AppImage) and run it; on newer distros you may need to install libfuse2 first.

After that, both apps update themselves when a new version is out.
